Oracle recently announced a new Siebel CRM Mobile software exclusively meant for Black Berry Platform. This will make Black Berry Smart Phone users have instant access to Siebel Data on their mobile phones. This is a major improvement on Siebel Mobile from Oracle. This has been the result of some great work between Oracle and RIM (Research in Motion).
Black Berry Smart Phones have become an essential tool for Field Service Engineers, Business executives and has also become a part of daily work lives for several of them. Earlier Black Berry users were able to access Siebel through the Web Browser but obviously the speed was not appreciable. So now with the new Siebel CRM Mobile exclusively made for Black Berry Smart Phone, Field Personnel’s will have better access which would be very similar to accessing emails using the push button.
As an analogy on how this works and to understand it better, what this means is that a thick client is installed on the Black Berry Smart Phones but they are connected to the server database so the data changes are reflected instantly. There will be no need to sync up like in Siebel Remote. This saves up lot of time and hassle to Field Sales Workers.
